Certain names are associated with different races and ethnic groups. In the majority of places that I’ve lived, the name Hector is usually associated with being Mexican (Or Cuban, or Puerto Rican, depending on the state). While there is really nothing wrong with that, some people are racist POSs and do not like Mexicans (or any Latinos).
